Abstract

Background: Bleeding ranks highest as a cause of maternal death throughout the period. One of the causes of bleeding is caused by low hemoglobin levels in pregnant women which will cause anemia. Objective: to develop an analysis of the factors that influence anemia in pregnant women so as to reduce morbidity and mortality. Method: Quantitative study with a cross-sectional approach. Total sampling data collection technique, collecting data that meets predetermined criteria as many as 287 third trimester pregnant women. Instruments, cohort of pregnant women. Analysis of two variables using the Chi-Square test and multivariate analysis used is logistic regression. Results: Of the 287 respondents, 154 were anemic (53.7%) and 133 were pregnant women who were not anemic (46.3%). Obtained a substantial relationship between maternal age, gestational age, parity, gestational spacing, nutritional status and ANC visits with anemia p-value <0.05, nutritional status shows the most influential determinant of anemia. Pregnant women with at-risk nutritional status are at risk of experiencing anemia 10.187 times higher than those with nutritional status who are not at risk. Conclusion: The determinants of anemia in third trimester pregnant women are mother's age, gestational age, parity, pregnancy interval, nutritional status and ANC visits. Mothers with anemia (53.7%) were 154 and those who were not anemic (46.3%) were 133 pregnant women. The most influential determinant is nutritional status. Suggestion: Improving ANC nutrition counseling services and checking hemoglobin levels to prevent anemia.

Abstract

Nutritional problems in Indonesia result in more than 80 (%) child deaths. Based on the 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Study (SSGI) survey, the national prevalence of stunting was 21.6%, Central Java province was 20.8% and in the Central Java region the highest stunting toddler was Brebes Regency, which was 29.1%. Stunting is a condition where a toddler has a length or height that is less than his age. Providing additional food especially for vulnerable groups is one of the supplementation strategies in overcoming nutritional problems. Providing additional food to infants is an effort to meet the nutritional needs of infants so that infants can achieve optimal growth and development. This research is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, which aims to determine the effectiveness of consuming animal protein (eggs and fish) for toddlers who are stunted. The study was conducted in May and June by providing food in the form of boiled chicken egg protein and fish for 30 days to 33 respondents. Univariate analysis using frequency distribution and bivariate analysis using Chi-Square. The results showed that there was an increase in nutritional status and a decrease in stunting between before and after receiving the intervention. Statistical tests obtained a p-value of 0.039 which indicated that there was an effect of animal protein (eggs and fish) on stunting.

Abstract

Childbirth procedures C-section, usually induce inconvenience post-surgery for the patient such as pain, mobility and personal fulfillment difficulty, and a mother’s duty to nurse their newborn. Enhanced Recovery After Cesarean Surgery or ERACS is a series of treatments that could speed up the patient recovery after surgery, from preoperative preparation to the patient discharge. Some hospitals in Indonesia have conducted their own study regarding the correlation between patient recovery quality to patient’s satisfaction level, but RS Awal Bros Batam doesn’t have the study yet. This study was done using an observational method and quantitative approach using Chi square on 30 C-section patients who are using ERACS method. The study was conducted in Solandra Room, RS Awal Bros Batam from January – February 2023. The result showed 83.3% of the patients recovered well and 83.3% patients satisfied with ERACS method. Chi square statistic test showed that the recovery quality and the patient’s satisfaction is dependent on one another (p < 0.005). Therefore, there is a correlation between the patient’s recovery quality and their satisfaction level on C-section with ERACS method.

Abstract

The incidence of childbirth complications itself is a determinant of maternal morbidity and mortality. The importance of preparation is carried out as a program of instruction with a specific purpose and structure. Birth preparation aims to prepare all the needs during pregnancy and childbirth. Mother's self-efficacy can describe the ability to go through the birth process well. This is an important factor influencing women's motivation to give birth normally. This study aims to develop a caricature-based module to increase mothers' self-efficacy in dealing with normal delivery. The design used in this study is the R & D (Research and Development) method through 5 stages. After developing the module, a product trial was carried out using the Pilot Study. The number of participants in the module trial was 20 participants who were Trimester II and Trimester III pregnant women. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive and paired T-test. The results of the research show that development has been carried out through literature studies and focus group discussions (FGD) with the stages of material validation by 4 material experts and 2 media experts, where the results of the posttest module trial score were 81.04. The increase in knowledge before and after education is 24.99. This shows that the developed module can increase mother's knowledge. The developed module can be used by pregnant women to increase knowledge that will support the increase in the mother's self-efficacy in dealing with childbirth.

Abstract

Marriage is a legally and religiously binding union between a woman and a man living together to start a family and continue offspring. Meanwhile, the problem of early marriage has not been resolved. This is quite a big problem for health workers, especially midwives. This literature review aims to analyze the impact of early marriage on reproductive health. Literature review based on problems, methods, similarities, and additional research ideas used in this research. 2 of the 4 studies we observed used qualitative research methods, 1 used qualitative and descriptive research methods, and 1 used descriptive research methods. The population used by the researchers was couples who married early and some of the results from the database obtained were from Google Scholar. The inclusion criteria for this research were informants who married at a young age and mothers who experienced problems as a result of marrying at an early age. Meanwhile, those excluded are women who marry at the right age and women who marry because of their desires. The results of this research show that the impact of early marriage is an immature reproductive system, and lack of maturity and early marriage is influenced by educational factors, economic factors, factors outside of marriage, and parental demands. Recommendations for further research where the impact of early marriage is a problem that must continue to be studied and solutions sought so that early marriage can be resolved.
